Danqi Guo

Danqi Guo is a predoctoral researcher in the ERC project Digital Governance in China and a PhD candidate in political science at the Otto Suhr Institute, Freie Universität Berlin. Her research interests lie at the intersection of authoritarian politics, political psychology, and digital technologies. Her doctoral thesis develops an emotion-based framework to examine the emergence, mechanisms, and consequences of digital authoritarianism, using China as a key empirical case. Methodologically, she works with mixed methods, including quantitative, experimental, and computational approaches, as well as qualitative, in-depth, contextualized methods. Her work has appeared in Perspectives on Politics and Regulation & Governance, among others.
